This post is long overdue, but the question remains:
Why can’t doctors explain the positive bands on a standard Western Blot Lyme test even though it’s CDC negative?
My very first Lyme test was negative and yet I had positive bands 23 and 41. I know I was CDC negative, but humor me and tell me what those bands mean if they are not Lyme specific antibodies. My PCP didn’t even bother to try to explain or lie for that matter, what the markers could be. He simply avoided my statement all together and said “it’s not Lyme”.
So… either the textbook medical community genuinely does not know what the bands mean if you’re negative or there is in fact a
controversy conspiracy about Lyme Disease.
